As a REALTOR®, I get many amazing experiences dealing with people. These experiences make me thankful for this career and of the opportunities it presents to help people. It is one of the reasons why I decided to pursue real estate.
My experiences have been as simple as helping someone find a new home or a dream home. When I see my clients excited and happy, I feel happy and fulfilled, even more so when my services exceed their expectations.
Assisting a client put up their home for sale in the Trinity FL area is challenging, especially with the tight market competition. I am incredibly grateful for the trust my clients have in me. A home is one of the biggest investments a person will ever make, and when they entrust me with it, it makes me want to work harder to help them.
One of my recent experiences reinforced the need to constantly work on a client’s trust, and that there are many things to be grateful for.
Some time ago, I received a new listing, a home for sale in the Trinity area. I was running on a hectic schedule during that time and had not yet listed the home in the MLS.
A couple of days later, I met a client for a showing. During the house tour, we got to talking about different places and subdivisions and she mentioned her husband’s favorite subdivision.
I recalled that the new listing is in the same subdivision, so I asked her if she would like to take a look at the new listing. She readily agreed. We then went to the address and I showed her the home.
We toured the home a bit, and at the end of the tour, she sat in the middle of the living room and started crying! I got a little worried, not knowing what was going on. Through her sobs, she quietly said “This is my dream home! I want it!”.
I was astounded! It was an incredible moment, and we were both ecstatic and thrilled. She, for finding her dream home in her husband’s favorite subdivision, and I, for helping them find their home while selling a new listing at the same time.
Then I realized I hadn’t even listed the Trinity home for sale on the MLS yet! And it is the fastest time I have ever sold a home!
Whenever I look back at that experience, I smile. It reminded me that the list of “things I am grateful for” is growing larger. It reinforced the many simple truths I already knew as a long-time REALTOR®.
It helped me remember that to be a good real estate agent, I must have a good network, access, credibility, knowledge, reputation and understanding. All these character traits help in doing the job efficiently, but more importantly, in establishing trust among clients. Client’s trust is one of the most important things a real estate agent must gain.
There are so many real estate agents and REALTORS®, and trust is what determines whether a client will stay with me or not.
I would not have that listing if my client did not trust me to sell the home. I would not be showing that home to my client if she did not trust me to help her find her dream home. All these great things that happened would not have happened had they trusted someone else to help them.
Trust helps an agent create a wide network of connections, making it easier to find properties, sell properties and complete transactions more efficiently.
For my part, I will do everything to keep that trust.
I look forward to continue building great relationships with my clients. I am privileged to receive the trust they have given, and will continue to work hard so that they remain my clients and friends for life.
